Pilar Diaz

2nd-5th Grade Music Teacher

Originally from Chile, Pilar Diaz is a teaching artist in music education, a CalArts Herb Alpert School of Music alum, and an active musician and songwriter in the Latin music community, both domestic and abroad. She has taught music throughout the United States at schools and universities for over 6 years with VOCO, a touring World Music ensemble. Currently, she is a seasonal guest teaching artist at The Getty Museum’s education department, and thrilled to be Citizens of the World’s new Music Specialist. She spends her summers mostly on the road touring with her personal music project and as a supporting musician role for other artists. This past summer she toured and played keyboards with Tegan & Sara, Las Cafeteras, and Chicano Batman. Her favorite music instrument is the ukulele!
