Katy Buckner

Katy Buckner is thrilled to be a member of the CWC community!  Growing up in Northern California, Katy attended public schools and developed a passion for education while she was still in high school, volunteering daily as a kindergarten teacher’s aide while simultaneously working as an administrative assistant for the Napa County Office of Education—an atypical first job, to be sure!  From there, she went on to obtain her BA in Communication Studies with a minor in Peace Studies from Loyola Marymount University, and continued with the university for a subsequent two years, resulting in her MA in Elementary Education and her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.  After five years of working as a classroom aide (Open Magnet Charter, Crescent Heights Social Justice Magnet, El Centro Elementary, and Loyola Marymount University Children’s Center), Miss Buckner taught for two years at Divine Saviour School in East Los Angeles and seven years at St. Raymond School in Downey before joining CWCH’s team in 2017.
