Kara Oliver

Kara Oliver

4rd Grade Lead Teacher

Ms. Oliver grew up in East Providence, RI and received her undergraduate degree from Boston College. Following her graduation, she worked successfully in music marketing and publicity in New York City and Los Angeles for eight years. In 2013, she decided to leave the music industry in order to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming an educator. She moved to Los Angeles permanently, and enrolled in the teacher credential program at California State University.

While completing her studies, Kara worked as a fourth grade Teaching Associate at CWC Hollywood for two years, working most specifically with Ms. Van Heerden (13-14) and Ms. Hill (14-15).  In that role, she was inspired by and able to learn from both her colleagues and students on a daily basis. CWC has greatly influenced and aided in the development of her teaching philosophies and practices. After teaching 3rd Grade at CWCH, she is incredibly excited and grateful to join the 4th grade team this year as a Lead Teacher at the school where she has grown as an educator and a member of its community. During her time away from school, she enjoys spending time with friends, hiking, and reading.
