Beth Faitro received a B.A. in Sociology from The University of California, Santa Barbara and a Masters in Social Welfare from The University of California, Los Angeles.
Since 2016, Beth has lovingly served the social and emotional needs at CWC Silver Lake and Hollywood elementary as the school counselor. Utilizing a variety of engaging and experiential techniques to help kids with such lifelong tasks as learning to cope with stress, developing a practice of positive self-talk, communicating feelings, making friends, and resolving conflicts, Beth aims to give kids tools they will need to thrive and to persevere amidst the many joys and challenges of life.
Beth has a particular interest and passion for mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, which are both proven evidenced based therapy practices. She was a founder of the award-winning mindfulness program at Grand Arts High School, in DTLA, sponsored by Girls Build LA.
Being a practitioner of yoga for over a decade, Beth earned her 200 hour yoga teacher training credential in 2012 in beautiful Costa Rica. As mindfulness and breathing are core elements of yoga, as well as amazing therapeutic practices, Beth weaves both heavily into her counseling sessions with students.
A strong believer in the importance of social emotional education for all students, Beth chose to work at CWC because of the shared emphasis and value placed on social emotional learning. When not working with kids at CWC, Beth especially enjoys spending time hiking with her husband and beautiful black lab, Maya.
