Anthony comes with a diverse educational and practical background. His first of three scholastic achievements was a Masters in Marriage, Family Therapy. While gaining his clinical hours he worked at a Non-Public School, Vista Del Mar, where he eventually became a teacher. He has experience working with students from first through ninth grade. While at Vista Del Mar, he pursued a second advanced degree resulting in a Masters in Special Education with an emphasis in mild/moderate disabilities. At Vista, he oversaw their afterschool program, was on their leadership team, and took over for the sitting vice-principal for an extended period of time while they were on medical leave. Anthony then pursued his third Masters; this one in Administration.
In addition, Anthony had his own private practice specializing in marriage and family counseling especially designed to help with child education and emotional development. For the past three years, Anthony was the Assistant Principal of Goethe International Charter School in Marina Del Rey, where he oversaw the special education, discipline, safety, counseling program, health concerns, attendance, and general welfare concerns of the school.
Anthony believes working with children in a school setting is very important to their long-term being. His background in therapy, administration and education allows him to understand the child from a holistic standpoint. He feels the child’s ability to learn is one part education and one part social/emotional. Anthony’s goal is to further implement and enhance the already dynamic programs at Citizens of the World by bringing together the educational/social/emotional paradigm to provide the optimal learning experience for our children.
Anthony was born and raised in Los Angeles, Ca. He is blessed to have a loving and supportive family with an amazing wife, Amanda and two beautiful girls, Charlie and Zoe. He loves sports, nature and is actively involved in many sporting activities.
